Seams and Edge Finishes 101

Ever wonder why some homemade garments look “homemade'? It's almost always the edges and seams!

40 US dollars
City Sewing Room

Service Description

This class is where you learn the secret handshake of garment sewing: how to join fabric so it lies flat, doesn’t fray, and actually survives the washing machine — then how to finish a hem or neckline so it looks intentional instead of “I ran out of time.” Once this clicks, you’ll look at any pattern you own differently — those instructions that used to feel like a foreign language (“understitch,” “flat-fell,” “clip the curve”) suddenly make sense. Bring in one garment you’ve struggled with on the seam or edge front, and if we’ve got time after class, we’ll dig into it together.

Cancellation Policy

In order to give our instructors time to prepare for each class, City Sewing Room requires a 3-day notice for scheduling and cancellation of all adult classes and a 5-day notice for youth classes. We appreciate your understanding.
