Service Description

Learn to sew your own basic crew-neck tee in this focused, two-hour workshop, using only a standard sewing machine — no serger required! You'll work with stretch knit fabric and learn the appropriate stitches for sewing knits, how to attach knit trim/binding at the neckline, and how to use a twin needle and an overlock (stretch) presser foot to get professional-looking, stretchy seams and hems. By the end of class, you'll walk away with a finished, wearable tee. Bring your own fabric, or choose from a limited selection provided by the instructor from the fabric mart. Supplies List What to Bring • Knit fabric, 1.5–2 yards depending on size — look for a two-way stretch knit (stretches side-to-side, e.g., jersey or interlock); avoid four-way stretch fabrics like athletic/swim knits, which behave differently under the machine. (Optional — a limited selection of fabric will also be available from the instructor; see below.) Ages: Adults only Students should have completed Machine Basics or have equivalent experience operating a sewing machine before taking this class. Facilitated by Ingrid L
