Do you have what it takes to design City's Next Top Mannequin? City Sewing Room and City Create House are teaming up for a playful summer challenge, and we want your creativity on display!

 

We have two mannequins in our shared yard, and they’re ready for a makeover. Whether you’re a fabric lover, upcycle artist, or just feeling crafty, this is your chance to turn your vision into a public art installation.

The Challenge

Design a creative outdoor outfit or display concept for one of our two mannequins.

• 1 Winner: Sewing-themed design for City Sewing Room (Blue Mannequin)

• 1 Winner: Crafty-themed design for City Create House (Orange Mannequin)

 

How to Enter

Submit your idea using our online form. You must include a sketch, photo, or digital drawing of your concept to be considered. One entry per person — choose your category!

 

The Prizes

• CSR Winner receives a gift card to City Sewing Room

• CCH Winner receives a gift card for a free class at City Create House

• Both winners will receive free access to materials from CSR to complete their look!

 

Additional Details

• Approximate specs of the mannequins: Head to toe: 68”, Bust: 34”, Waist: 29”, Hips: 34”

• This is an outdoor installation. Designs are temporary and do not need to hold up in the elements, but will be exposed to the elements.

• Your final creation will be displayed through August 31, 2025.

• Because this is an outdoor installation, finished designs will not be returned after the display period ends.

• Winners will be selected by Rita Hunt, Creative Director at City Sewing Room, and Anne Stirnemann, founder of City Create House.

• Finished designs will not be returned after the display ends, as they’ll be exposed to outdoor elements throughout the installation.

 

Important Dates

• Submissions accepted May 15 - 31, 2025.

• Winners will be announced June 11, 2025.

• Winners must submit their creations by July 15, 2025.
